Shortly before I photographed this Common Flatwing, I saw a Willie Wagtail catch one, bash it on the ground, and fly off with it. I know wagtails have to eat, but this is such a beautiful little creature.
Flatwings are amongst the few damselflies that perch with wings spread wide open, as dragonflies do. Most damselflies perch with wings folded back along their bodies.
